Tawonga Fishing Lodge
Tawonga Fishing Lodge is available for rent on a short-term self-catering basis during the Australian skiing season, which runs from June to October each year. The lodge is not listed with agents and has no star rating. It has four bedrooms on two levels that sleep eight people in comfort with room for more. It takes 35 minutes to drive from the lodge to Falls Creek ski fields and just under an hour to get to Mount Hotham.
The lodge, actually a warm and welcoming pine-lined cottage, is located at 82 Kiewa Valley Highway in Tawonga 3697 (check out Google map for location), and features include a comfortable lounge/dining area with gas log fire, colour TV with cable connection, also video and DVD players, computer with internet connection, local phone, an extendable dining table with eight chairs, a fully equipped kitchen including an electric stove, microwave oven, snack makers, (no dishwasher), plus a queen size bed and two single beds (upstairs) and two double bunk beds (downstairs), linen, doonas, electric blankets, room heaters and skiers drying room. There is only one bathroom, (plenty of hot water), and one toilet.
Tariff for 2010 ski season is $220.00 per night for the whole lodge, (minimum 2 nights), $880.00 for a week (7 nights) or $1150.00 for 9 nights, which can include two weekends. We accept Bartercard as full payment as well as cash and MasterCard and Visa credit/debit cards and there are no high or low season prices.
