About Our Fishing Adventures
We specialise in fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout in the sub-alpine rivers and mountain streams of northeast Victoria‘s alpine high country on a daily basis at times to suit you.
Part and half day trips are ideal for learning the basics of fly fishing. These can be arranged for any time to suit you. Try a part day booking for late afternoon during summer and catch the evening rise!
Whole day trips visit wilderness areas to fish streams full of trout that may not have seen an angler for a while. We provide a pub lunch or picnic lunch streamside, depending on circumstances.
Multi day trips introduce you to many pristine rivers and streams, some off the beaten track and all are full of wild-bred rainbow trout and brown trout. We provide accommodation and meals at Tawonga Fishing Lodge and a pub lunch or picnic lunch streamside on these trips.
Bookings can be made on short notice (subject to availability) and we recommend ‘catch and release‘ tactics, suggesting that anglers take a photo of their fish before releasing to fight another day. Alternatively, a daily bag limit of five trout per angler is permitted and conditions apply concerning fish sizes. Check fishing regulations or ask us for full details.
Gold and Ghost Towns
Visit gold and tin mining relics of the mid to late nineteenth century, including old treatment plants, mines and ghost towns, if time permits.
A good example of a ghost town is Granite Flat, circa 1859, which at its peak was home to 500 people. It had three stores, two hotels and many houses, all gone now, although a long-ago decommissioned Catholic church is still standing, with a pioneers cemetery behind it.
There are several mines still working around Glen Wills area and of course, some old-timers believe that more gold awaits discovery than has been won to date and who knows, perhaps they are right!
Bookings include coach, rail and airport transfers (ex Albury NSW, conditions may apply) and the services of a professional fly fishing instructor and guide plus provision of all fishing gear, tuition, 4WD transport and lots of fun.
